Paul Mc Cartney was born in Liverpool in 1942.
He has one younger brother and his mother died after an operation
when he was only 14 years old.
Paul was good at school and a friend of John Lennon so he
started playing in John's band "The Quarrymen".

You can easily find Paul on photographs because he is left-handed,
so he holds the guitar the other way round.
He played bassguitar and was called the "cute= good-looking" Beatle.
George Harrison and Ringo Starr joined the Beatles later.

Together with John Paul Mc Cartney wrote more than 200 songs for the Beatles.
