Story writing activities

- Read the beginning of the story and make it more interesting:

There was an old farmhouse in a forest. It happened one night. There was still a light at the window. A woman was sitting by the fire in the living room. She was reading a book. Suddenly she heard a noise. The woman went to the door, opened it and saw……….

Write an ending to the story too.

- Write a strange story together:

Work in groups of four to five. Each pupil should have a piece of paper. Everybody writes the beginning of a story but not more than one or two sentences. Then everybody passes the piece of paper at the same time. Now everybody adds another sentence or two. Then the story is passed on until the pupil who started gets it back. He/she finishes it and gives a title, and then all the stories are read out.
